If you have not already, try to get tested for adhd

in response to your tags, the 'hyperactivity' associated with adhd is a bit misleading; often, neurotypical observers will insist people with adhd are 'hyperactive' when they could easily mean something more like 'they have multiple interests which consume many hours of their time at a stretch' or 'they change what activity they are doing in a way i don't like/very often' or even 'they show too much enthusiasm about their hobbies'

now, about caffeine: stimulants work differently in adhd brains. Some doctors believe it is because people w/ adhd do not produce or retain high enough levels of dopamine. Thus, the theory is that stimulants bring an adhd brain closer to 'standard' arousal levels (arousal, here, meaning 'excitement' in general and not sexual arousal).

Important to note: for most people, caffeine literally makes them unable to be tired. Iirc, it blocks melatonin receptors.

If you drink caffeine and get more tired, or if it has literally 'no' effect, your brain is goofing up somewhere. It should literally actually make you more alert and awake. People aren't exaggerating or making up the symptoms commonly associated with caffeine- neurotypical people get caffeine jitters, become more alert, and literally cannot feel tired with large enough doses of caffeine.

(and before anyone asks: i type with the bolding because it is a friendlier way to type long posts for people with adhd- at the very least, people with my type of adhd)

BEWARE OF FAMI

image

I need you to follow me on this but... I like to find answers to questions raised by new chapters in previous ones.

As I've often said, even if Fujimoto likes to set up funny or seemingly innocuous scenes, nothing is innocuous and everything has a meaning. Nothing could be more normal than for a film fan to follow Chekov's rule of the gun.

But here our rifle is not a rifle, nor is it a chainsaw. It's a fridge.

image

Didn't it strike you as odd when, in one of the previous chapters, Denji introduced the rules set down by Nayuta, rules that seemed like common sense, like don't rummage in the fridge.

image

Now let's connect the dots. I don't think Nayuta set up these rules with Fami in mind, but it's just a more meta reading key that Fujimoto gives us. A key to understanding which side Fami is on.

Don't open the fridge = don't contract Fami.

Fami seems harmless and extremely funny, wanting to save mankind for the pleasure of eating pizzas and swallowing bread faster than her shadow. But there are a few things I'd like us to understand.

If Makima has made you remember one thing, it's that you shouldn't trust the characters' claims: as far as I'm concerned, those at the head of Chainsaw Man, notably Fami and the fake Chainsaw Man, want to give all their power to a new chainsaw demon, making the real Chainsaw Man weaker and more ineffective. By literally taking the wind out of his sails and setting up a new champion: Asa Mitaka.

image

Part 2 focuses on parasocial relationships. You really don't find this page strange? I've seen a lot of people rave about how badass Asa has become. PRECISELY! She's not supposed to be, we've seen that Asa wasn't made to be a heroine (I don't mean that in a negative way). The sword must be something that belongs to her: so what's in her hands? She's clumsy, so why does she look so confident? The only way she can fight properly is when she's possessed by Yoru: where are the marks?

All this to say that this page does not represent Asa Mitaka. It's a rumor, a collective opinion that people project onto her, maybe even a rumor. In any case, just like people with Chainsaw Man: an idealized portrait.

Seriously, don't you think that between Yoshida's dilemma and Fami's, we're trying to paralyze Chainsaw Man as much as possible? Isn't it contradictory to want to help Chainsaw Man by depriving him of his function? By inviting his intentions?

The aim is not to help Chainsaw Man, but to weaken him, to paralyze him, to bring to the fore not a first, a second, but a third Chainsaw Man.

No, Fami is not an ally.
